An Alsager town centre restaurant has decided to close its doors for 10 days after staff members came into contact with someone who had tested positive for Covid-19.

Ey Up Duck, on Crewe Road, Alsager, has taken the precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its staff and customers.

Announcing the closure on social media, the popular restaurant also highlighted that when they reopen on 29 October, they would be operating a new takeaway and delivery service.

The Ey Up Duck post said: "We have decided to shut our doors for 10 days. Some staff members have come into contact with Covid-19 and feel the safest way forward is for all our team to self-isolate for 10 days simultaneously to ensure our staff can return safely as a whole.

"As you know we have been at the forefront of keeping all our 'Ey Up Duck family' as safe as possible, and we feel this is the most responsible action in a very tough period for all small businesses.

"We are sorry for any disappointment this causes and we look forward to welcoming you all back soon.

"Please keep an eye on social media for updates. We will reopen on Thursday 29 October with a new takeaway and delivery service, in addition to our usual sit in restaurant.

"Stay safe all and we look forward to seeing you soon."
