It's just days to go to Alsager's Christmas Lights Switch-On which promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

The event takes place on Sunday (November 26th) and there is plenty of fun planned for all to take part in.

Watch out for road closures which involve Lawton Road and the former Bank Corner to Shady Grove plus other throughout the town.

There will be over 80 market stalls indoor and outdoors and fairground rides throughout the town. Most shops will be open and there will be a Santa's grotto inside Alsager Civic.

The lights will officially be switched on at 6 pm but the fun starts at 4 pm and there will be a live DJ set.

It is organised by Alsager Christmas Events Committee, supported by Alsager Round Table, Alsager Town Council and many volunteers.

A spokesperson said: "There will be festive fun, entertainment, Santa's grotto, lights switch-on, fireworks, fairground rides, food and shopping for all the family."

"The beautifully lit town Christmas tree will be located on the lawns outside the Alsager Civic.

Don't miss the Christmas Tree Festival at Wesley Place Church either, with an array of Christmas trees.

Alsager Animals in Need will also be at the switch-on with their usual teddy tombola stall, as well as books and Christmas t-shirts.

A spokesperson from Alsager Animals in Need said: "Hope you can pop along and have a good night with us, raising vital funds for your local animal rescue."
