Calling all brass band fans - Audley Brass is opening its doors to the public.

Audley Brass has a very rich heritage in the local community, having been in existence for over 120 years.

The band has always been pivotal in many local events such as the annual Remembrance Parade in Audley village, a variety of Christmas performances and carrying the name of Audley wherever they compete nationwide.

They have decided to now invite local residents to join them in their band room premises and observe rehearsals behind-the-scenes.

And they are also inviting people to their Christmas concert which takes place on Saturday, December 10th.

Musical Director, Tom Hancock said: "We are acutely aware of the strains that many households currently find themselves under and we want to give our supporters a reason to smile over the coming months.

" As a self-funded charitable organisation, we are forever grateful for the support the local community gives to us and we want to give a little something back.

"Our band room premises are in use twice a week – we have spare capacity for a small audience, so we thought why not invite those supporters to share a warm space and hot drink with us."

The band room will be open to guests during normal band rehearsal times – Wednesdays  from 7.00pm until 9.30pm and Sundays 5.15pm until 9.00pm.

Tom added: "As the band room capacity is limited, you will need to pre-book your place by contacting the band via their social media channels, their website audleybrass.org or by emailing [email protected].

"Please state which rehearsal you would like to attend, how many of you there will be, and the full names of all attendees."

The annual Christmas concert to take place on December 10th takes places at 7.30pm at Audley Methodist Church, New Road, Bignall End.

The concert will feature many festive favourites along with a performance of some of the band's recent Wychavon Festival of Brass programme and a special guest appearance from Audley Community Band.

The concert is free of charge and refreshments will be available during the evening.
