Fans gather in Alsager to remember Michael Lee Aday aka Meat Loaf

Fans of the legendary American artist Meat Loaf, famous for his 'Bat Out of Hell' song will be gathering in Alsager tonight (Saturday) to pay tribute to the singer who has died.

A Meat Loaf tribute night already arranged before Friday's sad news is going ahead and a one minute silence will take place at the Thirteen Club in Cedar Avenue.

And Meat Loaf impersonator Matt Shaw is set to delight the packed audience tonight at his first gig since the sad news.

Thirteen Club manager and secretary Steve Johnson confirmed to Nub News that he's booked the Meat Loaf tribute act again to appear later in the year.

Matt Shaw, who appeared on ITV's Stars in Their Eyes and at the age of 17 became the highest scoring Meat Loaf Impersonator before a live audience of 14 million in 2000, says it will be a very sad occasion.

"I have met Meat Loaf and sent his family my condolences on Friday. I am devastated.

"He was such a great man and it's lucky I wasn't performing Friday night.

"Tonight will be more important than ever. We will make it a great night in his memory."
