Award-winning community group appeals for volunteers to help with their work

Have you got some free time and would like to volunteer for an award-winning community support organisation?
Alsager Community Support has opportunities available for helping out in the centre in Crewe Road and driving people to the weekly lunch club.
Alsager Community Support (ACS) provides free, local and confidential support for people in any kind of need in Alsager and surrounding areas.
So highly regarded is the organisation it was awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service - the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK, equivalent to an MBE.

Launched in 2015 by Liz Pinkney who was awarded a British Empire Medal for her work ACS celebrated its 10th anniversary in January of this year.
ACS began with the help of members of Alsager Community Church, applying for a Big Lottery grant enabling a portacabin on Fairview car park to be purchased to house what was then known as Alsager Community Support Centre, and the foodbank.
Now many years later, ACS is based in premises in Crewe Road above The Vault restaurant and you have chance to join this organisation.

A spokesperson said: "Whether you’re a people-person, a good listener or just someone who wants to give back we’d love to have you on board. A little of your time really can mean the world to someone else."
