An Alsager church is inviting people to go along today (Wednesday) to a service for Ash Wednesday.

St Mary's St Mary Magdalene Church in Crewe Road is holding thr service tonight at 7 pm.

A spokesperson from the church said: "The sign of the cross is made on each person's forehead with ashes made from last year's palm crosses and holy oil. This is a chance to pause and reflect. Everyone welcome."
