Alsager Town Council's newest councillor has pledged to look at communication and climate change during her time in office.

Rachel White was co-opted on to the council following the resignation of Councillor Sue Helliwell due to health reasons.

Rachel was previously assistant manager at Alsager Community Support, an organisation she still volunteers for.

She will serve on Alsager Civic and Services committee, Alsager Institute committee and the Personnel committee.

"I would like to look at climate change and see what grants we can apply for to enable the planting of trees," said Rachel.

"I also want to ensure residents know the difference between the role of Cheshire East Council and that of Alsager Town Council and what the responsibilities of each are."

Cllr White, who covers Central ward, held her first drop-in surgery recently and looks forward to engaging with local residents.
