Alsager Nub News readers have come forward with ideas for a major building in the centre of Alsager after we asked what they would like to see there.

One reader, David Bayes suggested moving the Post Office in there and also add the new Banking Hub. 

"The existing Post Office building looks too small to accommodate both functions," he said.

Another reader, Brenda Cartwright said she would like to see the building become a small market hall with independent talls. Nearby Crewe Market Hall in Crewe has become a popular attraction so could this idea work?

The former Bank Corner building in Lawton Road closed in March 2023 and then a sign appeared saying it was becoming a children's nursery.

That plan fell through as we revealed here and the building, once a pub and entertainment venue, went back on the market.

We revealed here that a spokesperson for letting company, Sandyford Properties, said the premises is "currently under offer".

"It's too early to give any more details as it's still going through solicitors," Sandyford Properties said last month (August).

Alsager Nub News has approached Sandyford Properties for a comment.
