Alsager has escaped the relegation zone and now have their sights set on the next season and further changes.

The club, members of the North West Counties League Division One South, finished 18th in the table – three from the bottom.

They have had four first team managers this season and have revealed that plans are afoot to make improvements pending the result of two grants they are applying for.

Chairman, Terry Greer, who has been with the Wood Park Stadium club since 2011, says this season has been "one of the toughest" but they have come through stronger than ever.

He says the appointment of new management towards the end of the season for helped and he is confident the club can make some ground improvements pending grant application bids.

He told Nub News: "Our tractor broke down three months' ago and we have been paying a contractor to cut the turf since then.

"We have applied for a Football Foundation grant to help buy a new one which will cost around £15,000 with £7,000 of that made up from the grant.

"We've also applied for a £50,000 ground improvement grant, of which we have to pay 10 per cent towards.

"Hopefully we will get this and then we will see how best it could be spent. We will look at what we need most."

Alsager, members of the North West Counties League Division One South, has had four first team managers this year.

Alsager Nub News told in January Click Noel Dempsey had turned up Alsager's cup tie match at Crewe to be told it was his "last" match.

He had replaced the resignation of Brian Wilson, who had stood down for family reasons.

Next on the block was Click Ricardo Reeves who parted company with the Bullets after a bad 5 – 1 defeat to Cammel Laird.

Alsager, as reported in Nub News Click then appointed Karl Brown as first team manager, Liam Marsh as assistant manager and Josh Shepherd who seem to have brought winning ways to Alsager Town.

Let's hope they continue their winning ways next season and Alsager Town goes from strength to strength.
