Residents, businesses and community groups are being invited to comment on emerging plans for a new neighbourhood on land between Hassall Road and Dunnocksfold Road to the north west of Alsager.

Hallam Land's public consultation opened today (Thursday 8 October) and runs until Friday, 30 October.

The proposals could provide up to 1,100 homes, including affordable homes and a mix of new houses to meet different local needs.

The site adjoins the existing town and is close to schools, services, public transport and recreational facilities. New residents could also help support Alsager's shops, services and wider local economy.

The proposals put green space at the heart of the neighbourhood, with accessible open spaces, play areas, allotments and new walking and cycling routes connecting with Alsager.

Existing trees and hedgerows will help shape the design, with opportunities to retain and enhance them where possible. New planting, wildlife habitats and sustainable drainage would also be incorporated into the scheme.

The site also offers the potential for a local centre and land for a primary school, subject to an identified need. Residents are being asked for their views on the proposals, including how the neighbourhood should connect with Alsager and what facilities and green spaces would be most useful.

Adam Masters, Senior Land and Planning Manager at Hallam Land, said: "Manor View offers an opportunity to provide much-needed homes for Alsager, including affordable homes, as part of a neighbourhood that connects with the existing town.

"We want its green spaces, walking and cycling routes and potential community facilities to benefit existing residents as well as those who may live there in future.

"These plans are still developing. We encourage local people to look at them, tell us what matters to them and help shape the proposals before we submit an outline planning application."

The proposals and a feedback form are available here. People can also send comments or questions to [email protected]. A leaflet is being distributed locally with information about the consultation.

Feedback received by Friday 30 October will be considered as Hallam Land develops the proposals ahead of an outline planning application.
