By Deborah Bowyer 4th Nov 2026
Alsager's annual Remembrance event takes place on Sunday (8 November).
The parade is meeting in Asda car park between 2 pm and 2.15 pm departing at 2.30 pm.
Road closures will be in place in Lawton Road, Crewe Road, Sandbach Road North and South, Ashmore's Lane, Brookhouse Road.
A spokesperson from Alsager Town Council said: "To facilitate the parade we kindly ask residents and motorists to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra time for any disruption.
"We invite residents and members of our community to come together in remembrance, reflection and gratitude as we honour the courage, sacrifice and service of our Armed Forces.
"We remember all servicemen and women — those who gave their lives in the service of our country, those who have served in the past, and those who continue to serve today, often spending time away from their loved ones to protect the freedoms we enjoy.
"We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the Royal British Legion for their continued and invaluable work supporting our veterans, serving members of the Armed Forces and their families."
The parade will then march to Alsager War Memorial for the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in Sandbach Road South, starting at approximately 2.40 pm.
As in previous years the youth groups will be drawn up immediately in from of the War Memorial, leaving spaces for those laying wreaths to pass through.
After the ceremony, the parade will reform and will march to St Mary's Church, Crewe Road, for the Remembrance Service starting at 3 pm.
On Wednesday 11 November at 11 am there will be a further Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial, with an exhortation and lowering of the Alsager RBL Branch Standard as an Act of Homage.
