Year 11 students from Alsager School have been asked to stay at home today (Tuesday) following a confirmed positive Covid-19 case in the year group.

After being notified late last night (Monday), the school decided to take action so that they could liaise with the "affected student" to "ascertain a list of close contacts".

Close contacts will be contacted by the school today (Tuesday).

A spokesperson for Alsager School said: "The rest of Y11 should expect to return to school on Wednesday.

"I know that many of you will be concerned about mock exams.

"Please be reassured that we will extend the exam period to enable you to take the mock exams, in the event that you are self-isolating.

"No student will be disadvantaged."
