An Alsager restaurant which has been closed for nearly a week after a car 'collided' with street furniture is poised to reopen.

Caster's in Lawton Road closed last Sunday after a white BMW X3 'collided' with street furniture and the front of the restaurant in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

The restaurant is due to reopen on Wednesday (July 12th) and Brad Lancaster from Caster's has launched an appeal for information.

Alsager Nub News reported here how Cheshire police were called to the restaurant after reports of an incident around 3 am on July 1st.

Brad said on Social Media: "All we know is a car fled from Sandbach Road North at 2.53am past The Lodge Inn in Alsager and running another car off the road (we don't know this car or driver) and drove off.

"The car causing the crash then went ahead down at high speeds past The Vault causing the crash at Caster's.

"They got out of the car, ran towards The Vault then ran back to Caster's on the opposite side of the road from Stephenson Browne.

"They then got back into the car and fled. The car was found abandoned close to Pikemere Road. Unfortunately, the CCTV we currently have doesn't capture any faces.

"If you have a business in Alsager with CCTV, a ring doorbell or anything that may put any evidence together we ask for you to politely get in touch."

A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said previously: "Officers attended and found that a white BMW X3 had collided with street furniture and the front of a local restaurant before driving off in the direction of Crewe Road.

"The vehicle was subsequently found abandoned nearby and has been recovered by officers. There were no reports of any injuries.

"It has since been reported that the car had been stolen from an address on Crewe Road sometime between 11pm on Friday 30 June and the time of the collision."

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, or at www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us, quoting IML 1286005.
