Enterprising Hannah Donkin who set up Music Squad

Alsager business owner, Hannah Donkin, is a finalist in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year category in the Club Hub Awards 2022.

Hannah set up the Music Squad in September, a music tuition business, which has gone from strength to strength.

The Club Hub awards is a national award scheme for activity providers with entry by application only, no voting.

The awards are independently judged by a panel of expert judges, who are children's activity professionals or specialists in their field.

They will shortlist the finalists and select the winners for each of the individual award categories.

Winners will be selected based on their commitment to excellence, innovation and growth of their business, demonstrated through their business performance, achievements, brand values and their passion.

Hannah graduated with a first-class degree in music in 2014 and left a corporate job to set up her business.

She told Nub News: "Everyone knows learning an instrument is good for some reason, but the benefits are actually immense.

"Playing an instrument develops life skills, social skills and has even been proven to improve IQ, but more than all of that is its incredible ability to boost well-being and self-esteem.

"So much of my confidence and personal identity comes from music, I can't imagine who I'd be without it."

Music Squad now delivers piano lessons to over 130 children across 10 schools throughout Cheshire and Manchester.

Hannah will find out on May 14th when the Club Hub Event 2022 is held in Birmingham whether she has won.
