Traders are getting ready to stage tomorrow's new-look weekly market inside Alsager Civic.

The weekly market, which used to be held on Fairview car park, has gone inside and tomorrow (Wednesday) it will be the third time inside.

Although it's early days, traders say business has been brisk and they are keeping their fingers crossed it continues.

Alsager Nub News told previously https://alsager.nub.news/news/local-news/towns-weekly-market-has-a-change-of-venue-inside-alsager-civic-178697 how the market was going inside.

We asked a selection of traders how the new-look market was going and all said it's going well - a trend they hope continues.

The market takes place from 8 am until 3 pm and there is a café on site with chairs to sit and relax.

Remi Jashanica who runs Clems Traditional Greengrocers, said trade was good the first week which was over Easter.

"Hopefully we can build it up. Last week was very good. We just need to keep going," said Remi.

Hayley Ellitott, who runs Scruffy Mutts Snack Shack which sells food and treats for dogs, was worried about it going inside but she has been pleasantly surprised.

"Customers have been coming inside to shop with me. I don't think we'll know for a while yet but it's a good start."

Her views were echoed by Steve Lovatt of Steve's Flowers, who has traded at the market since it opened in 1994, and said so far the trend has been good.

Steve said: "It's too early to say for definite but I'm really pleased with the support so far. Let's hope it continues."

And Alsager Town Council, who run the weekly market, are urging more traders to come forward and take a stall.

A spokesperson said: "If you're interested in becoming a stall holder, we'd love to hear from you.
