Join British Museum curator, Dr Anna Willi, for a captivating journey through the archaeology of gladiatorial spectacles and learn what armour, gravestones and even oil lamps reveal about Rome's most legendary fighters.
Dr Willi will share fascinating insights into the objects that help archaeologists better understand the lives and deaths of those who fought in Roman arenas 2000 years ago. Careful interpretation of artefacts from across the Empire and exciting new research allow us to get closer to the men behind the helmets, many of which spent their lives trapped between enslavement and fame.
This exclusive online talk offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of the Gladiators of Britain exhibition currently at Chester Grosvenor Museum and hear directly from one of the experts who curated it.
All guests will be sent joining instructions via email 48 hours prior to the event. Please ensure your email address is correct.
