Yellow weather warning issued for Cheshire East as Storm Éowyn batters UK
Alsager has been issued with a yellow weather warning due to strong winds from Storm Éowyn.
The yellow warning means that some damage to buildings, power cuts, flying debris and travel disruption are all possible.
The Met Office - which issued the warning - said there was a chance of medium impact, but that this was a 'low likelihood' and will be in place until Saturday.
Emergency weather related issues on our network can be reported to us by calling 0300 123 5020 in hours or 5025 out of hours. Non-emergencies here: http://fixmystreet.cheshireeast.gov.uk #StormÉowyn
The warning will remain in place until 11.59pm today (Friday 24 January).
The wind is such that the temperature feels like 1°C - although the actual temperature this morning is around 7°C
Much stronger winds are expected in parts of Scotland and Ireland. The Met Office has issued a red warning for these areas.
The Met Office advises securing loose items left outside, and planning before you travel.
Cheshire East's Ansa has also given advice about bin collections. " Due to the anticipated high winds, once your bin has been emptied, please bring it back in as soon as you can."
