A project to improve an area in Alsager including the planting of a wildflower meadow begins next week.

Phase 2 of the ecological enhancement plan in the Sandbach Road Green area.

Alager Town Council say the work is taking place to create a "vibrant and biodiverse environment".

A spokesperson said: "As part of this phase, we'll be laying weed control matting in preparation for the introduction of a wildflower meadow.

"This matting helps suppress invasive weeds and creates the right conditions for the meadow to thrive.

"The matting will remain in place until late September. Thank you for your support as we continue working to create a more vibrant and biodiverse environment."

What are your thoughts? Will it help the local area to encourage more wildlife and biodiversity?
