An extraordinary meeting has been called by Alsager Town Council at which concerns raised about merchandise displayed at last weekend's Alsager Pride event will be discussed.

Alsager Town Council is holding a meeting at 3.30 pm on Monday (August 11th) at Alsager Civic and among the items on the agenda which can be viewed here are complaints in relation to the Alsager Pride event held on Saturday (2nd August).

Part One of the meeting includes an opportunity for residents to ask questions about issues in accordance with Standing Order 2 of the Town Council's Standing Orders.

Item six on the agenda in Part Two of the meeting which excludes the press and public relates to the Alsager Pride event - to consider complaints from members of the public in relation to the Alsager Pride event.

A separate statement released by Alsager Town Council on Social Media said: "We are aware of concerns raised about merchandise displayed at a recent privately organised event held on Council land last weekend.

"While the event was not run by Alsager Town Council, we take community standards seriously and are reviewing our processes to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for third party events."
