What's On in Alsager this weekend: A farmers’ market, organ concert, quiz night and live music

It's the first week of August and there's plenty to do and see this weekend.  

There's a farmers' market, organ concert, quiz night and live music to name a few.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Saturday August 6th      

Feeling a bit jaded and wanting to get fit? Wild Bootcamp in The Woods is a great way to get moving in the outdoors.

The Whirligig Wild Bootcamp takes in School Wood, Scholar Green is a circuit-style fitness group for those who want to exercise in fresh air with a friendly group.

It's Rode Hall monthly farmers' market at Scholar Green from 9 am - 1.30 pm, with lots of stalls and live music.

New arrivals include African Al's cooking pastes, sauces and chilli dips and Hemingways pasta with their pesto sauces and Fatima's kitchen with Turkish food.

The old dairy barn will also be full of artisan crafts and there will be live music and the courtyard kitchen will be open selling breakfasts, homemade cakes, drinks and lunches.

Nearby All Saint's Church, Odd Rode has a concert with Dr Philip Smith starting at 2 pm (details below).  

Alsager Town Football Club are away against Elllesmere Rangers.

The Thirteen Club in Cedar Avenue has a quiz night. 

Sunday, August 7th    

Saxophone players from Alsager and Sandbach perform in a special concert.

Helen McCourt from Sandbach and Rachel White from Alsager are part of the quartet, 'The Reed Warblers'.

They will be joined by fellow quartet members, Josie Elden and Jan Simpkin from Madeley. Together they make up the Reed Warblers who perform at St Mary Magdalene's Church at 3pm.

Admission is free but there will be a retiring collection for church funds. 

In the evening, Alsager Bridge Club is at The Thirteen Club in Cedar Avenue, meeting from 6.30pm until 10pm.

If you play bridge, this is a chance to try out your skills and meet new people in a relaxed atmosphere.
