An Alsager father and son have set up a leisure business in a family of four generations of coach drivers.

Father-of-three, Dave Cabble and son Adam (19) are the faces behind the newly-launched Burland Day Trips & Tours.

But the love of coach driving doesn't stop there, for Dave's father was a coach driver and so too was his grandfather.

Dave (48) has always loved coaches and even collects model versions of them at his office in Crewe and home in Alsager.

Dave loves driving coaches and likes to see his passengers happy.

"It's always been an ambition of mine to get my own coach. I love driving and I love seeing happy passengers.

"I love to see my passengers smiling and enjoying themselves.

"I love driving and seeing new places. Starting my own business was always an obvious choice."

Dave's father, Ian Cabble, is a coach driver in Lloret de Mar in Spain and his grandfather, Bryn Price, was a coach driver in Wales.

"I come from a fourth generation of coach drivers. I've always loved coaches and used to sit in coaches as a child, cleaning."

Dave originally trained as a mechanical engineer and his love for coaches and buses doesn't stop there – he collects miniature ones.

"Dad's got a showcase at home with them in. He just loves coaches and buses," said son Adam, who is following in his father's footsteps.

And Dave is particular about the kind of coaches and buses he collects.

"I prefer the older ones. I also love classic cars and lorries."

And it looks like Dave's decision to go it along and launched his own business at the end of 2022 is paying off.

For he has a string of customers ready to sign up for his long list of trips all over the country from York to Llandudno and Derbyshire.

He is also poised to launch a range of holidays by coach but for the time being he's staying closer to home.

Dave has launched a Facebook page for the business which details his trips and where passengers can book. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100086859725424

"The feedback so far has been great. I've had some lovely comments and satisfied passengers," he said.

Good luck Dave with your new venture – Nub News wishes you all the best!
