Prizes are announced for this year's Pride in Alsager shop window competition

A bathroom showroom and a café have scooped top prizes in this year's Pride in Alsager shop window competition.

The Bathroom Showroom in Crewe Road won first place while Chatwins in Lawton Road was runner-up. and Age UK and Headway were both highly commended.

  

X factor contestant, Andy Hofton, led the entertainment at Alsager Cricket Club with a high energy performance of well- known hits inviting the audience to join in, sing and dance.

The cricket ground was rocked by four-piece band Chasing the Fall who performed a mix of well-known hits and their own tracks.

Other artists included Remy The Jack  from Manchester, Alsager Community Choir and Hayley Elliott, local vocalist.

A spokesperson for the Pride in Alsager committee said that the event had been a great success.

"We're already planning for and looking forward to next year. Anyone who would like to be involved next year as a volunteer, donor or sponsor should complete a contact form here ," they said.
