With communities across the country "saddened" that there will be no Remembrance Parades this year due to Covid-19, the Royal British Legion Alsager Branch has organised a competition to keep the "spirit of Remembrance alive" in the community.

The RBL Alsager Branch has decided to run a competition to give a "little bit back to our wonderful community".

From Thursday 22 October to Wednesday 11 November, the RBL Alsager Branch are asking households to decorate their front windows in the theme of "Remembrance".

The only criteria required is that the red poppy is the main colour within the display.

This is solely due to the red poppy being the symbol of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

To enter email your name and address to [email protected]

Entry into the competition gives consent for your name, address, and picture of your display (and possibly yourself) to be used by the RBL Alsager Branch for publicity.

Judging will take place on 12 November and winners will be notified by email.

The winner of the competition will receive a £25 Asda voucher, second and third places will be awarded a £20 and £15 voucher from Asda.

A spokesperson for the Royal British Legion Alsager Branch said: "Good luck and thank you for your support."
