There's nothing like tucking into a warm, tasty pie on a cold and wet day - it's comfort food at its best.

British pie week starts on Monday (March 7th ) but which is the UK's favourite pie?

Sandbach Nub News has teamed up with the research team at SlotsUp who have scanned Google data to see which pie we favour best.

And there's no surprise to find cottage pie is the tops followed by fish pie and chicken pie.

The biggest surprise probably is that shepherd's pie just sits outside the top 10.

But what is the difference between a cottage pie and a shepherd's pie? While a cottage pie contains beef mince, a shepherd's pie more traditionally contains lamb meat.

Taking 15 of the most popular savoury pies across the UK, here's how they ranked:
