Plunging temperatures and snowfall have made it a tough week for many people.

But there's light at the end of the tunnel – as Rode Hall's legendary Snowdrop Walks are literally around the corner.

Every year, the stunning historic house at Scholar Green throws its gates open at the beginning of February for visitors to see the carpet of snowdrops.

The property has over 70 varieties of snowdrops and from February 4th until March 4th, visitors will be able to go on the popular walks from Thursdays – Sundays from 11am and 4pm.

Snowdrops signify the beginning of the new season and are a sign of purity and the warmer months ahead.

TV presenter, Julia Bradbury, has no doubt that the are hardy perennial, winter-flowering plants are a mood-buster and the first sign of spring on its way.

"A snowdrop walk helps us to lift spirits and make the most of the days getting longer," she says.

Residents living in Sandbach and Alsager don't have to travel far to see impressive displays as Rode Hall has a spectacular display.

"The swathes of cascading white flowers at Rode are a sight to behold and one of Cheshire's little known natural treasures."
