One person taken to hospital after collison between car and fire engine

Motorists travelling to Crewe face dliversions after an accident at the junction of Close Lane and Crewe Road.

The road was closed near The Plough pub earlier today (Friday) after an accident around 7.25 am.
Three fire engines from Crewe, Congleton and Winsford went to the scene along with teh major rescue unit from Winsford
A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said there was a collision between a car and a fire engine on its way to an incident.
They added: "The driver of the car received casualty care from firefighters until paramedics arrived on scene to take them to hospital. No firefighters have been seriously hurt.
"Crews made the vehicle safe, and an investigation is now underway. A full road closure is in place while vehicles are recovered."

A spokesperson at the scene said the road would be closed for a while. No other details have been released.
