Church Lawton School, a specialist school for autistic children near Alsager, is celebrating a milestone after revealing its popular annual coffee mornings have now raised more than £3,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The school, in Cherry Tree Avenue, Church Lawton, held its latest coffee morning earlier this term, welcoming families and members of the local community for tea, coffee, and homemade cakes – all served by the students themselves.
The event is part of a much-loved tradition that began ten years ago, with eight coffee mornings held in total (two missed due to Covid).
Each year, students take an active role in preparing and hosting the event, giving them the chance to develop confidence and social skills while supporting a cause close to many hearts.
The mornings have become a highlight of the school calendar and a great way to bring people together.
Principal Paul Scales said: "We're really proud to have raised over £3,000 for Macmillan through our coffee mornings.

"They've become such a special part of school life, and it's wonderful to see our students working alongside the local community for such an important cause.
"The atmosphere is always brilliant – full of smiles, free flowing tea and coffee, and lots of tasty treats!"
Church Lawton School plans to continue its coffee morning tradition in the years ahead, hoping to raise even more for Macmillan while strengthening its close ties with the local community.
