Saddlery business near Alsager applies for permission to build an outdoor padel court
By Deborah Bowyer 27th Oct 2026
Alsager and Sandbach Saddlery at Day Green Farm in Hassall Road, Day Green, Hassall has applied to Cheshire East Council to build an outdoor padel court.
The business already has an indoor padel court, Alsager Padel, and has now gone back to Cheshire East to apply to build an outdoor one.
The application here states: "The site is located in the open countryside. The site currently consists of the house, a saddlery and retail shop, an indoor padel court and a range of buildings which are used for either domestic or personal equestrian purposes.
"The existing indoor padel court was granted planning permission in October 2025 and has been operational since 1st April 2026.
"The venture has been successful and there is an opportunity to provide one additional court to the rear of the existing building to help satisfy the demand."
The application goes on to say: "The court would sit immediately adjacent to the gable of the existing building. The proposed court would be surrounded by glass screens and have the standard appearance of a padel court with external lighting.
"The court would be complementary to the existing indoor court and the retail use on site. Operating hours would be 7 am to 10 pm.
"There would be no change to the access to the site or the car parking arrangements. There is sufficient space to serve both the existing and proposed activities."
People have until 4 November to make representations about the plans here .
