Plan to build 12 homes on site of Alsager hotel

An Alsager hotel could be bulldozed to make way for 12 bungalows.
HH Land Profits Ltd has applied to Cheshire East Council for outline planning permission to build the homes on the site of the Holly Trees Hotel on Crewe Road.
A design and access statement submitted by Wilson Architects says: "The site is currently occupied by Holly Trees Hotel, along with its associated parking and gardens.
"The first stage of the design development was to remove all the existing structures, as well as several trees located within the centre of the site.
"The structures include Holly Trees Hotel itself, along with several small sheds/ outbuildings and what remains of a collapsed building in the rear garden.
"This creates a large site suitable for re-development and ensures the site offers the maximum opportunity for a high-quality residential development."
Each plot would have two designated car parking spaces along with private rear gardens with external access.
The existing access would be retained, to maintain the mature hedgerow along Crewe Road, but widened slightly towards the south-west corner of the site, to provide a safer entrance/exit to the site.
According to the application form, the proposal is for 10 three-bedroom and a couple of two-bed properties.
The application, number 25/2741/OUT, can be viewed on the planning portal on Cheshire East Council's website.
The last date for submitting comments is October 1 and the application is due to be determined by a planning officer under delegated authority.
