An application to install new play equipment outside of a village hall near Alsager has been approved with conditions.

The Mount Pleasant Village Hall in Mount Pleasant Road, Scholar Green, applied for permission to install new play equipment including swings, slide with climb wall and removal of old safety surfacing and replacement with new safety surfacing.

Cheshire East's planning department has approved the application providing the development starts within three years if permission being given, the development is carried out in accordance with the plans and materials used are those specified.

Odd Rode Parish Council fully supported the application to reinstate play equipment at the site.

It undertook a survey on play facilities in the Mount Pleasant ward four years ago and says there was overwhelming support from residents for a play area for older children at this site.

"It will be a well-used and valued addition to the village hall site," they say.
