A new event for young children in Alsager and their parents and carers has got off to a flying start.

And the organisers, Alsager Civic, are busy planning the next which takes place on November 2nd which they are hoping will be equally well attended.

Tots Time was launched by the Alsager Civic team to give parents and carers a well-earned rest and chance for their children to have fun.

Over 72 children attended with their carers to the first event and just under £70 was taken selling teas and coffees.  

A spokesperson said: "Thank you to everyone who came along to our first ever Tots Time.

"We loved seeing you all and hopefully you had a lovely couple of hours whilst the kids played and you could enjoy a well-deserved cuppa!

"Our Tots Time will run on the first Weds of every month. The first one saw Cheshire East Connecting Community to offer support and the police held a surgery at the same time.

"Plans are in place for developing this each month to introduce other aspects."
