A new cake shed is set to open in North Staffordshire this weekend as a local grandmother and baker expands her business.

All About Elegance Bakery, named after the initials of owner Penny Turner's four grandchildren, will be officially opening at Keats Gardens in Kidsgrove tomorrow (Saturday 30 May).

Penny has been selling her home-made cakes since April, and decided to expand her small business by opening a cake shed after seeing them on social media.

She said: "I've just seen them all over TikTok and I think they're really cute. So I thought I'd do it."

The cake shed will be stocked with a range of cakes, cookies and baked goods with a regularly changing menu.

Penny, who also works as a support worker at a residential home for adults with learning disabilities, explained that baking helps her relax and unwind.

To stock the cake shed, she will be making a range of cakes, cookies and baked goods with a regularly changing menu.

"I do find it quite relaxing," Penny said.

"Don't get me wrong, I find it stressful when I've got loads of orders and I'm trying to get them all out. But I do find it quite relaxing most of the time."

All About Elegance bakery, will be open on Saturdays from 9am to 6pm and on Sundays from 10am to 6pm.

When the shed is open, customers can help themselves to cakes and pay using a QR code, bank transfer or by depositing cash into the honesty box.

The grandmother of four also hopes that the cake shed will allow her to continue to support her local community, adding: "I would like it to help people as well".

A portion of the sales from the cake shed will go to a "community kindness" fund that will be used to support local causes – with a particular emphasis on helping to provide birthday cakes and balloon stacks for disadvantaged local children alongside charity Little Steps Big Dreams.

Penny also supports a Kidsgrove children's football team by selling cakes at their matches and donating the majority of the profits to the club.

All About Elegance Bakery will officially open at Keats Gardens in Kidsgrove on Saturday 30 May from 9am.
