Metal services company submits plans to build two-storey office on disused commercial Alsager car park

A metal services company has submitted plans to construct a two-storey office building on an existing Alsager town centre car park.

Shaun Clarke, of Clarke Metal Services, has submitted an application to build a two-storey office building on an existing car park, on land to the rear of 52, Sandbach Road South, Alsager near SASH Hairdressing & Beauty.

Clarke Metal Services currently let office space at The Dairy, Crewe Hall Farm, Old Park Road, in Crewe.

However, the company is looking to move away from renting office space to build and grow the company in their own office space.

The proposed office would be a "more modern looking" building in line with Alsager Fire Station across from the site.

The building would be finished with metal and timber cladding similar to the building in picture one. The accompanying pictures are the look Clarke Metal Services' clients are looking to "emulate".

In a design and access statement submitted to support the application, the report stated: "There is mixed property designs in the area ranging from new modern looking buildings to the more traditional two-storey shops along the main street."

Clark Metal Services have been trading "successfully" for nearly 25 years and recently expanded from four to eight staff.

The development of the site to form their own offices is with expectations for "further growth" in the coming years and to keep the business local.

Alsager Town Council welcomed the application to bring "economic growth" to Alsager.

The last date for submitting comments on the application which can be viewed here is 19th August.

Cheshire East are expected to make a decision on the application through delegated powers by 16th September.
