Learning another language can be daunting but a French teacher living in Alsager is aiming to make it much easier.

Dany Harris lived in Brussels for a few years and taught English to students there.

But now the linguist, who has a degree in French and German, is teaching French conversation.

And Dany's students love it for they are learning to speak and understand the language at a pace to suit them.

Vowels, nouns and other grammatical terms are used and explained but the situations they are used in are from everyday life.

The classes take place at Alsager's Two Doors Studio and vary from beginners to pre-intermediate – one at Wednesday lunchtime and another two classes on Monday evenings.

"It's important to learn French for situations you might use it in such as booking a hotel room or ordering food in a restaurant," she said.

"I see people improve every week. It's about learning French in a relaxed, fun and sociable environment with friends, family and the new friends you haven't yet met.

"My teaching method gets you speaking quickly and confidently. It's about being brave and going for it."

And listening to one of Dany's lunchtime class it's easy to see why her students keep coming back to learn more.

Everything is fun and relaxed and she gives students lots of encouragement and praise, getting them to speak in French confidently.

The weekly classes are held in a room at Two Door Studio in Crewe Road

The lunchtime class on a Wednesday is only half an hour but a lot is packed into that.

One student is hoping to travel around France with her husband when he retires next year.

"I did 'O' Level French at school but it was so long ago. The classes are really helping me. Dany is such a good teacher," she said.

For the next pre-intermediate class, students will be learning colours using a Guess Who game.

"It's about looking at normal situations and using them to teach the language through everyday life," said Dany.

Dany has set up a website for further information about the lessons - https://languageswithdany.weebly.com/
