Man suffers minor head injuries after being struck by a lamppost that was hit by a car

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after being struck by a lamppost that was hit by a car at Sainsbury's car park in Alsager.

Officers were called at around 6.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, 21st April) to a car park on Crewe Road, Alsager, following reports of a collision involving a white Volkswagen Tiguan and a lamppost.

A pedestrian who was standing by the lamppost, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries to his head.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.
