Local drama group resurrected historical figures for Alsager Carnival spectacular

Children are always fascinated by historical characters and they will certainly be awash at Alsager carnival tomorrow (Saturday) as part of their 'Horrible Histories' spectcular.

Alsager Community Theatre (ACT) loves showcasing its work to younger audiences and yesterday (June 7th) they brought some very famous faces to life.
Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and Queen Victoria not to mention two pirates, a WWI soldier and two vikings all took to the streets for the annual parade.

And families and others will be able to meet the characters face-to-face at the group's stall at Milton Park.
"We had a meeting and someone suggested characters from Horrible Histories. We have a fantatic wardrobe selection and a great wardrobe mistress," said a spokesperson for ACT.
"Our next production is Jane Austen's Emma at Little Moreton Hall so it just seemed fitting for us to do this. We love historical dramas."
At last year's carnival, ACT dressed as evacuees for the parade and this year they have once again opted for an historical theme.

ACT has a raffle and tomabola on their stall at Alsager Carnival with two tickets to see Emma at Little Moreton Hall as one of the prizes.
ACT's production of Emma runs across two weekends - from Thursday July 3rd - Saturday July 5th and Thursday July 10th - Saturday July 12th. Tickets for the performances are available here
