Alsager application for 42 homes withdrawn from planning agenda

A planning application for 42 homes in Alsager which should have been decided by Cheshire East this week was withdrawn from the agenda and will be determined at a future date.
The council's planners had recommended the southern planning committee approve the proposal for the affordable homes on land off Close Lane.
On Wednesday (June 4th) planning officer Daniel Evans told councillors the application had been withdrawn from that day's meeting agenda because 'there was an outstanding matter relating to drainage which hadn't been resolved in time'.
Three years ago the southern planning committee turned down an application for 55 homes on the same site on the grounds of insufficient open spaces and garden sizes.
Council planners say the latest proposal from Breck Homes deals with those previous concerns.
Alsager Town Council has objected to the latest scheme for several reasons including the site is not in Cheshire East's local plan, the density of the proposal is unacceptable and because access to the site from Close Lane is on a blind bend
Sixty-eight residents have also objected.
It is not yet known when the application will come before the committee for decision.
