A lamb died following a dog attack on livestock in Alsager on Friday.

According to rural crime team officer, PCSO Smith, the lamb was "not lucky enough to escape and survive".

PCSP Smith said: "I have spoken to the sheep owner a couple of times in the last few days and it's clear how upsetting this is when he tries everything to make sure his land is secure."

Yesterday (Sunday, 25th April), PCSO Smith was in the area and walked some of the public footpaths to highlight the issue to walkers and educate them about the countryside code.

Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team are working with Alsager Police.

PCSO Smith concluded: "Thank you to all that engaged, it was lovely to talk. Please do spread the message and let's put a stop to this."
