The opening date for the drive-thru Starbucks on the new Sainsbury's superstore site in Alsager has been confirmed.

Starbucks say the drive-thru will open on Friday, September 12th with the RSPCA officially cutting the ribbon and opening the store.

A Starbucks spokesperson said: "We're excited to bring the Starbucks experience to Alsager and look forward to welcoming the local community from the 12th September, with the first 100 customers getting a free reusable cup which they can use to get 25p off future beverage purchases.

"The RSPCA will also be joining us on the day to officially cut the ribbon and open the store"

Cheshire East's planners gave approval for the application 24/2767C here in November last year and now workmen have been spotted on the site - on the former Twyford Bathrooms site off Linley Lane.

Contractors are currently working on the building.

An earlier planning statement from Edgeplan and submitted with the application previlously, stated: "The opening times will be from 6am-11pm. This is consistent with the opening times of the Sainsbury's store."

"It is expected that the vast majority of vehicular trips to the coffee shop would consist of supermarket customers that call in as part of a shopping trip, or vehicles passing the site on Linley Lane calling in as part of a wider journey."
