It's a Home run! Three local businesses team up to launch community running group

Three local favourites — Home Coffee & Studio, The Vault and Kidsgrove's The Fitness Collab — have joined forces to launch the "Home Run Club", a new community running group designed to bring people together through movement, conversation, and good food.
The Home Run isn't just about logging miles — it's about creating a welcoming space for runners of all levels to connect.
Organisers say the group is for runners training for their next race, starting their running journey or just looking for a healthy way to socialise, the Home Run Club is open to everyone.

Every two weeks on a Sunday, runners meet at Home Coffee & Studio where they can enjoy a pre-run speciality coffee and treat before setting off on a guided route led by long-distance runner and restaurateur Brad Lancaster.
Supported by well-being experts Josie and Frankie from the The Fitness Collab, a variety of paces are set to suit the ability of runners ensuring that no-one gets left behind.
After the run, participants head to The Vault for a well-earned refuel — think fresh juices, homemade granola, and hearty bacon butties.

"We've seen running clubs pop up in different spots across the country, so thought we might also be able to create something great in Alsager," said a spokesperson from the Home Run.
"It's safe to say we've been blown away by the response so far. Our first event had just shy of 50 runners and the interest is still growing!
"The success has caught the attention of some big brands in the fitness and running worlds so expect some exciting collaborations in the future too!"
Participation is free but the club is welcoming donations that will go directly to local charity - Alsager Roundtable.

"Running together has an incredible power to build friendships, boost mental health, and strengthen our sense of community," said Alex Melhuish owner of Home Coffee & Studio.
"We wanted to create something that brings real benefit to those taking part but which also hopefully can make a difference locally.
"We chose the Roundtable as benefactors because of their contribution towards organising some of the great events in our town."
The next gathering will take place on 7th September at 8.30am, starting from Home Coffee & Studio at 16 Lawton Road, Alsager.
The runs are free to join with a ticket which is available on Eventbrite prior to each date. Links to each release are shared on the group's WhatsApp chat.
To join the conversation get in touch with The Home Run on social media or pop into Home Coffee & Studio to get your invite.
