Fork lift truck and counterbalance driver

Meridian Business Support are recruiting for a fork lift truck counterbalance and reach driver to work for one of our prestigious clients based in Alsager.

The role will be working on days at a manufacturing and production site and the successful candidate must have an in date external Counterbalance and Reach licence and experience is preferred.

The hours of work are days: Monday - Friday 7am to 3pm Rate of pay is £14 per hour.

Making local lives better.

ACS provides a free, local and confidential service for people in any kind of need across Alsager and the surrounding areas. Everything we do relies on the care, time and generosity of our volunteers.

There are many ways to get involved, depending on what feels right for you:

Centre Volunteers – Join us in our advice centre, where we offer information and guidance on a wide range of issues. You'll be part of a supportive team helping people find the help they need.

Befrienders – Spend time with someone who may be feeling lonely or isolated. A friendly chat, a shared cup of tea, a regular visit — that connection can mean more than you'd imagine.

Volunteer Drivers – Help people get where they need to go. Some volunteers drive once or twice a week to take people to the local civic lunch club. Others help to take people to essential medical appointments when there's no other way to get there.

Whatever your skills, availability, or experience, there's likely a place for you here. We'll provide guidance and support.

Senior electrical controls engineer

Location: Radway Green 

Salary: Up to £55,869 dependent on experience 

What you'll be doing:

  • Assessing and fault finding our collaborative robotic and automated processes
  • Working on and supporting bespoke Industrial Control Systems (ICS) solutions to ensure each asset remains fully operational and protected including Cyber security and accreditation
  • Demonstrating an understanding of ICS design and installations
  • Innovating and conducting self-research to ensure controls and protections remain Cyber-Safe and Cyber Essentials (EC) compliant
  • Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining documents, policies, and standards governing the control operations and assessments
  • Providing support to existing systems maintenance and be key in the roll out of essential security driven changes and improvements
  • Carrying out both hardware and software changes to the control systems, fault finding, testing and commissioning

Your skills and experiences: Essential:

  • Broad experience of detailed electrical engineering in controls
  • Degree or BTEC (HND/HNC) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar subject
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge with PLC, HMI & SCADA systems

The ICS OT Assurance Team: This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team of industrial control engineers who specialise in OT cyber assurance and compliance across all LAND (UK) sites. 3. Our recruitment advice consultants will work with you to identify the best opportunities available which are suited to you. Their tailored support ensures you only apply for roles where there is a realistic chance of success and help you to prepare for interviews and perform at your best. Typically, starter roles will be junior business analyst, junior analyst or a support/admin role utilising your analytical skills.

Business Analysts work closely with Project Managers and Change Managers and opportunities in these areas also exist which broadens the net in these sister sectors. Further study into Project Management certifications can expand the breadth of roles you find available.

Our major projects team are recruiting 1x Steel Fixer/Shuttering Joiner for work in Alsager (near Stoke on Trent).

Please note that due to the site location, you must have your own transport. Site is inaccessible via public transport.

Job Details

  • Location: Alsager (ST7)
  • Start: Monday 27/10/25
  • Duration: 1 week
  • Hours: 07:00-17:00 (Monday-Friday)
  • Rates: 260/day CIS
  • Duties: 70% Steel Fixing and 30% Basic Shuttering. Working on a concrete base within a sheeted pit for a tank to sit on. Tying steel to a depth of approx. 5 metres.

Essential requirements

  • Blue CSCS card
  • Full Orange PPE
  • Hard hat with chin strap + Safety Boots
  • Steelfixing nips (battery tools can be provided for shuttering work)
  • Own Transport
  • Checkable work references
