Throughout Brad Lancaster's impressive culinary career which spans top-class restaurants such as Gordon Ramsay's, his late grandmother was always there supporting his every move.

During Brad's time at the former Caster's in Alsager, his nan, Pat Simkin, would often drop in to enjoy her favourite meal cooked by Brad there - fish and chips, keen to see her grandson's career flourishing.

And on Sunday (April 27th), Brad will be running the Manchester marathon in memory of his late nan who sadly died from lung cancer last August. He will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support .

Brad, who is director and executive chef at The Vault restaurant in Alsager, has also organised a much bigger event in May to carry on raisinf money for the cancer charity

The Vault's director and executive chef, Brad Lancaster, is renowned for his culinary skills but he's also got a passion for Macmillan Cancer Support .

Brad has organised a special 80 mile event on May 21st - the day which would have been his late nan's 80th birthday - and will be using this weekend's Manchester Marathon to prepare for this.

He has set up a JustGiving page here for Macmillan Cancer Support and has already raised £2,920 and donations are flooding in.

He said: "Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they've got. If you're diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan's worries.

"Macmillan's doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can't support everyone who needs them.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe, JustGiving - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails.
