Caring for Cheshire's furry friends, David Wilson Homes has donated £500 to Alsager Animals in Need to fund continued care for animals at the charity throughout the pandemic.
The housebuilder made the generous donation through its 'Our Space Your Place' community initiative which aims to support community projects and local organisations throughout the North West.
The developer, who is building nearby at Scholar's Place, made the donation after the centre was completely full with cats and dogs needing care in the first lockdown.
Hilary Baxter, animal coordinator at Alsager Animals in Need, said: "We are very grateful for the donation in times like this where our regular fundraising has been cancelled.
"The donation will go towards the ongoing costs at the rescue as we have regular vet bills and rely on volunteers and kind donations to keep the rescue going."
Alsager Animals in Need provides a vital service in and around Alsager as they have numerous animals also in long-term foster.
The charity was set up in 1987 with just a £100 donation and have gradually built the rescue up to current standards with a fully heated and insulated catteries.
The charity was also given an award for its contributions to the community from Alsager Town Council.
Hilary continued: "The people of Alsager District have been invaluable to the running of the rescue and have kept us going.
"However, during this time we have had to cancel our monthly coffee mornings with the community and are now more internet based so people moving to the area might not know that we're here to help."
Rob Holbrook, managing director at David Wilson Homes North West, said: "As one of the UK's leading developers, it is really important that we support charities and local organisations in the areas in which we build.
"Alsager Animals in Need is a fantastic charity that helps to care for and rehome pets as well as giving advice and support to the community and we are proud to support them.
"We wish them the best of luck in rehoming current pets after lockdown and in difficult times like these we're encouraging more people to support local organisations and charities just like this one."
