Crowds of people gathered to take part in a day of fun for Pride in Alsager today (Saturday).

A colourful flash mob parade walked through the town to Alsager Cricket Club for an afternoon of music and events.

And some took part in the 'Pride in Alsager' experiences survey which was launched today.

The anonymous questionnaire aims to explore the experiences of minority sexual orientation and gender identity in Alsager and surrounding areas.

Jacquie Karaca. Chair of Pride in Alsager said: "We will use the results to communicate experiences with local services where relevant and guide the vision of Pride in Alsager in meeting the need of the local LGBTQI+ community."

The afternoon of free entertainment is sponsored by Pride Partners Alsager Social Club and Paradox Vapes and includes a line-up of performers from Double Denim, Hayley Elliott, PJ Taylor, Kyle Finn, Ginger Boy, to Ted Blank and many others.

Jacquie said she was delighted with the response to the event.

"It's been well-supported and has given everyone a chance to get out there. We've got some fabulous acts and we've had some great sponsorship. We're also launching our survey today," she said.

More than 20 stalls were on hand offering glitter tattoos, crafts, jewellery, sweets and gifts.

A range of food will be available from Naomi Bakes, Groovin Gourmet and Kookies Ice Cream. The cricket club bar will also be open.
