Alsager vicar, Rev Rob Hilton, is swapping his church duties for running today (Sunday) as he takes part in the London Marathon.
Rev Hilton, Wesley Place Church Minister and the Methodist Church's Superintendent Cheshire South Circuit, is running for Brain Tumour Research.
It's a charity that's close to his heart as in 2019, Rev Hilton found out his 20-year-old son, Ned, had a rare childhood brain tumour and just weeks later his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer.
He said: "Within weeks, my wife was also diagnosed with breast cancer. There followed months and months of surgery, radio, and chemotherapy.
"The NHS staff were brilliant and both are now living full and active lives. Underneath all that, the medics did was solid scientific research.

"I can't support such research enough. The folks at Brain Tumour Research directly contribute to the work doctors do.
"I know not everyone's story ends as positively as ours does, but more research means more people's stories might do."
Rev Hilton has set up a JustGiving page for donations which can be found here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Rob-Hilton2?fbclid=IwAR1EvKpOHVzBShE8Bi2LUtpKppRI45fCd5cUBXORjZPftQC3LGoqBMoHrBQ
