Community groups urged to apply for funding to help celebrate the King's coronation

Calling all community groups - are you planning an event or activity to celebrate the King's Coronation?

Alsager Town Council has a small budget of £1000 available for local community groups that are organising a commemorative or celebratory event during the weekend of May 6th to 8th 2023 to mark the King's Coronation.

Community groups can apply for funding from this budget up to a maximum of £100 per grant application.

Successful applications must be directly related to the King's Coronation and demonstrate appropriate community benefit/and or input.

Community groups are encouraged to organise:-

· A celebratory event, show or party to mark the to be held during the weekend of 6th to 8th May 2023.

· An organised activity for The King's Coronation, for example mug painting.

· A commemorative fixture such as commemorative benches, plaques, tree planting, flower beds, Town wide floral displays, or temporary street decorations etc. Work on such fixtures must be underway or ordered by 31 May 2023

A town council spokesperson said: "Further details on the Town Council's King's Coronation policy and terms of reference and an application form are available on the Town Council website.

"Copies can also be requested by contacting the admin team on 01270 876440 or via [email protected]."

The King's Coronation grant application form must be completed and emailed to [email protected] or posted to Alsager Town Council, 3 Lawton Road, Alsager, Cheshire, ST7 2AE by 13 April 2023.
