Alsager Town Council has installed CCTV in the public toilets near to an entrance to Milton Park due to a spate of vandalism and anti-social behaviour.
Town Council clerk, Nicola Clarke, told councillors at the annual meeting of Alsager Town Council that the decision was taken after a "terrific amount of vandalism and anti-social behaviour".
The town council, which maintains the toilets next to the Crewe Road entrance to Milton Park, has spent more than £1,156 on installing the CCTV.
"We have, thankfully, not had very much vandalism since this was installed," she said.
A report to the meeting said: "The Town Clerk applied Standing Order 30.1 and Financial Regulation 11.e to authorise the order as an urgent matter and with signed approval by the Chairman of the Council."
Cllr June Buckley said that the baby changing mat in the men's toilet had unfortunately had to be removed as it had been so badly vandalised.
