Sue stepped down from the council after seven years in her position two year ago in 2022. but today (Friday) she's starting a new term in office as a councillor for Alsager East ward.

Sue, an independent, polled 468 votes compared to the one and only other candidate, Gavin Soulsby, Labour party, who polled just 197 votes.

She has fought numerous planning issues whilst on the council previously and volunteers for various groups in Alsager. She cited health reasons for resigning as a councillor for the central ward, Alsager previously in 2022.

Sue has helped residents with various campaigns in the past and launched a petition calling on Cheshire East to install a zebra crossing in part of Alsager.

Previously, she launched a campaign to stop Cheshire East Council from disposing of a public open space near allotments in Talke Road, leafleting 150 houses near the area.
