An Alsager pub is part of 100 around the country to participate in a deal where drinkers can get their fifth pint for free.

The Linley in Alsager is taking part in the promotion, which is being offered by Robinsons' pubs as part of Cask Ale Week, and is running until this Sunday (October 3rd).

Customers who want to take part can pick up a collector's card, and after buying four pints from any of the participating pubs they can get their fifth pint for free.

Each pub has been allocated 500 free pints to give away to those who manage to fill their collector's card.

As well as this Alsager pub, other local pubs that are participating include:

- Brindley's Lock at Packmoor

- The Linley in Alsager

- The Unicorn in Congleton

- The Market Tavern in Sandbach

- The Swan & Chequers in Sandbach

- The Rifleman in Nantwich

- Three Crowns - Hurdsfield

- George & Dragon - Macclesfield

- Nags Head - Macclesfield

- Lord Byron - Macclesfield

- The Silk Trader - Macclesfield

- The Dolphin - Macclesfield

- The Railway - Handforth

The deal aims to get more people trying real ale or any other beer of their choice - although customers have been asked to call ahead and make sure the pub has not yet met its 500 pint limit before arriving.

David Bremner, Director of Marketing at Robinsons, said: "The promotion will not only attract and reward customers, but will help close to 100 businesses who have faced more challenges than most since the start of the pandemic, typically closed for longer, subject to more trading restrictions and less likely to benefit from government initiatives such as reduced VAT on food, suspended business rates and last summer's 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme."
