TWO brothers from Alsager kept music lovers entertained while venues remain shut during the pandemic by performing a free online concert.

The Buggs, brothers Dylan, 12, and Owain, 10, played and sang live from their basement via Facebook Live to an appreciative audience who were encouraged to interact by typing comments, or adding a Like or a Heart.

Songs performed were a mixture of Christmas and classic tracks including Happy Xmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon/Yoko Ono, Highway to Hell by AC/DC and Jingle Bell Rocks by Bobby Helms.

The Buggs are usually a four-piece band, including George on bass guitar and Holly on drums. Unfortunately, Covid restrictions meant the other two band members were unable to join the gig, but the Dylan and Owain gave them a shout out at the start of the livestream.

The guitar band members all receive their guitar lessons from Nantwich-based singer-songwriter Jonathan Tarplee, who said: "I've helped coach the boys on their guitar playing and performance and have been amazed how well they are able to command a stage at such young ages.

"They've been working very hard at it and it's paying off."
